What Does “Power” Mean to You Now That You’re Older and Wiser?

There was a time when power meant proving.

Proving you were capable.
Proving you were intelligent.
Proving you could endure.
Proving you could carry it all.

For many women, especially in our younger years, power looked like force. Achievement. Visibility. Accomplishment. Being the strong one. Being the reliable one. Being the one who never fell apart.

But something shifts with age.

With experience.
With heartbreak.
With healing.
With perspective.

Power begins to soften.

And in that softening, it deepens.

Power Is No Longer Performance

When you are older and wiser, power no longer needs an audience.

It is not loud.
It is not defensive.
It is not frantic.

It is grounded.

Power becomes the ability to say no without guilt.
To rest without apology.
To walk away without explanation.
To choose alignment over approval.
To trust your intuition over external noise.

It becomes presence.

It becomes discernment.

It becomes peace.

Power Is Internal Authority

True power is no longer about controlling outcomes or convincing others.

It is about self-governance.

It is knowing:
“I can survive discomfort.”
“I can handle disappointment.”
“I can hold boundaries.”
“I can begin again.”

It is emotional maturity.
Energetic sovereignty.
Spiritual steadiness.

When I work with women—through womb healing, creative activation, and aligned leadership work—I witness this shift often.

They arrive thinking power means expansion outward.

They leave understanding power begins inward.

The Evolution of Feminine Power

Older and wiser power is not domination.

It is integration.

It is being fully expressed without being reactive.
It is being compassionate without self-sacrifice.
It is being ambitious without self-abandonment.
It is being soft without being small.

It is power with, not power over.

And it feels less like striving and more like standing.

Questions to Stir in Your Cauldron

  • How did I define power in my younger years?
  • What does power feel like in my body now?
  • Where am I being invited to embody power differently?

Notice what feels steady versus what feels performative.

That distinction is wisdom.

A Mini Ritual: Anchoring Mature Power

Sit upright with your feet planted on the ground.

Place your left hand on your heart and your right one on your belly.

Take three slow breaths.

Then say softly:

“My power is grounded.
My power is wise.
My power is steady within me.”

Feel that stability.

This is not force.

This is rooted authority.

A Closing Blessing

May you redefine power on your own terms.
May you release the need to prove what you already embody.
May your power feel less like pressure and more like presence.

You do not have to be louder to be powerful.

You simply have to be aligned.

And so it is . . .
